We welcome you to beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where the Art Institute of Vancouver is located. Our school reflects its unique and exciting environment. As the only private degree-granting art school in British Columbia, our school reflects its unique and exciting environment. Not only will you feel the welcoming culture of this country, but also the vibrant buzz that permeates the city. Voted by Mercer’s 2016 Global Quality of Living Survey as the #5 most livable city in the world—and #1 in North America—and also voted by "The Economist" as the #3 most livable city in the world, Vancouver has it all. In a single day you can go from ocean kayaking to skiing at the world-class ski resort of Whistler. Its political, social and economic factors make Vancouver an ideal place for both work and play.
One of the things that stands out in Vancouver is its diverse and multi-cultural population. You will notice this the moment you first walk into our campus, conveniently located at a major Skytrain station on Renfew Street. With over 500 International Students as of June 2016, The Art Institute of Vancouver attracts students from all over the globe. Our students have been featured in international events such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the Urbani Truffle contest in Umbria, Italy. Like the skyline of our city, our campus is modern and bright, and encompasses over 80,000 square feet. This provides our students with an ideal setting to explore, create, challenge, and share their talents with fellow students, faculty, and industry leaders from all over the world.
It’s no wonder that since 2002, Art Institute of Vancouver graduates have worked on an astounding 66 Oscar-nominated films, including eight of the ten top-grossing films of all time. Situated within walking distance of the major studios of “Hollywood North,” our campus is ideally placed to provide students with easier access and connections to pursue their goals. We have been rated the #1 school in Canada, and in the top 10 in North America, for our Game Design programs for the past seven years by the "Princeton Review." That speaks volumes about the caliber of faculty and the creativity and talent that our campus attracts. Looking at the wide variety of programs in the creative fields ranging from Certificate programs to Bachelor Degrees, one thing is clear: the students and faculty at The Art Institute of Vancouver love what they do—and it sets them apart on an international stage. We are very proud of the one-of-a-kind, collaborative atmosphere that exists here between our programs, which is reflected in all of their achievements.
We welcome you to join us as you grow to become a Creative Warrior and Make it Happen!
